Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) came to my attention many years ago when a friend discovered he was extremely sensitive to MSG. He would become severely disabled when he ate at restaurants that put MSG in their food. When he stopped consuming MSG, he got better. I now avoid MSG myself, along with other food additives.
